A new start amongst other things

Hi everyone! Hope all is going well with you and yours. Well, having said that my plan was to do some stash diving I have to admit that I didn’t dive as much as I thought I would! I was only really getting down to some serious stash diving when an envelope arrived and I got totally sidetracked. I’d ordered a couple of CHS charts one of which was Her Sampler. Any more thoughts of stash diving went out the window as I knew this had to be the one I worked on next. So, having started this on Friday on some 32ct linen and the suggested DMC threads, here’s my progress….

Before that though I had managed to start a little bit of stash diving and hadn’t gone too far when I came across the CHS Virtues series. I’d already stitched Hope and Faith last year…

CHS Hope and Faith stitched on 32ct Vanilla Gold using suggested threads

but, of course, having stitched two of them I then went on to something else and never got back to the others. A couple of hours stitching over two days and this one is now completed. Only two more to go!

CHS Charity stitched using 32ct Vanilla Gold and suggested threads

Stash diving aside, last year I stitched BOAF’s Bloom Where You Are Planted – stitched on 32ct R&R Roasted Crown Blend using the suggested threads. It was one of my finishes that I put to one side and hoped that at some point I’d come across a frame. I found one last week. So, let me leave you with another finish that has finally made it into a frame (another do-it-yourself job so don’t look too closely!!)......

Until next time……

Hey! I just bought Her Sampler too - great choice! ;) It's kitted up and I'm itching to start it, but I really need to get on with some of my other WIPs first. Your pic is really tempting me though, so I don't know how long it will be before I cave...

Love your CHS finishes, these designs are so sweet and your framing looks great!

I love your choice of frame Lois - it's perfect for this gorgeous BOAF design. I've never seen this design before so am off to search for it on ebay!

Lois, what a lovely framed piece! You do have an eye for picking just the right frame.

Love your new CHS pieces. Deb, has a picture of a finish she did on the Virtue series - it's lovely! I have also seen them stitched together on black which is also stunning - I just need to decide which route to go.

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world.

I love the CHS pattersn. I will miss seeing new ones coming out. Your BOAF looks GREAT!!! I did this one a couple of times. I was finally able to keep the second one for myself. The first one was for someone else. I love the frame you picked as well.

I like your new start - I can see why the stash diving stopped when that arrived in the mail. Love the Virtues series also - are you going to group them together?

And congratulations on your finish! It looks great.

Your framing looks very nice and better than mine which is non-existent!

I was just organizing my stash this morning and this was one I'd wanted to pull out...but then I saw all the other ways already kitted up! *sigh* Have fun with Her Sampler!

All the stitching is lovely ~ I like all the pieces, well done on finding a suitable frame for Bloom - that's always the hardest part: finding a frame xxx

What a perfect frame for "Bloom," Lois! It looks wonderful...

I always feel sorry for all of the charts in my stash waiting patiently to be stitched. Like you, when a new chart arrives in the mail, all thoughts of them are cast aside and I end up stitching the "new chart in town."

Your virtues are so lovely--will you be framing them together?

Oh my goodness, Lois!! You're just churning out those finishes. I love your BOAF--great frame choice! Good on you for doing it yourself, too. It looks wonderful. I love your new start! I love the Hope/Faith series that you're doing, too. I have been wanting to start them, too. There just aren't enough hours in the day!

Lois, oh my you have some lovely finishes and wips...well let's just say, I pulled Her Sampler out the other day myself! And if it weren't for my promising myself that I would persevere on Time and Season, I would be working on that one! I will just watch your progress and wish I was you! lol

Have a great week!
