Starting to feel like 'Tis the Season'

Hi everyone! Brrr!!! It’s feeling a little like snowman weather around here with a covering of snow that has now been frozen by the low temps we’ve been having and isn’t looking like it’s going to disappear any time soon. So, let me start off with sharing my ornament finish for November, a cute snowman, who I first saw stitched over at Carol’s blog, Stitching Dreams – if you have never visited Carol’s blog, head on over there, she is the loveliest person and has a wonderful blog. I have shamelessly copied Carol’s idea of changing the colour to blue. When I saw her stitched snowman I thought he was so cute and the blue worked so well. This one is stitched on a scrap of linen I had in my stash and I used GA Blueberry which I know isn't what you would necessarily think of as a Christmas colour but I liked the shade of the skein I had.

Midnight Stitching Snowman's Quaker Christmas freebie found here

Here’s where I’ve got to on BOAF’s Happy Hearts Sampler…..

Another pic where this fabric probably looks completely different again! I’m enjoying stitching on this one even though I feel like I haven’t made much progress since my last pic. In between working on this one and my November ornament I have also been putting a few stitches in Autumn at HRH. Mid-December is when I’m hoping to have finished this block so keep your fingers crossed that I will be posting a pic showing that I have actually managed to keep on track and finishthe first block!!!

I hope all is well with you and yours. For my US friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed your holiday weekend. Under four weeks to Christmas – how did this year go by so fast?!?!?!?!

Until next time …..

Your snowman is a real sweetie. What I love about blogs is seeing and yes, copying, all the great ideas of other bloggers. I think it's part of the sharing!

Love that BOAF piece too!

One of the things I love about blogland is seeing all the creativity used to stitch and finish projects. I borrow ideas all the time. I agree about Carol's blog, her finishes are so inspiring. Talk about inspiring...your snowman ornament is so cute. I love the switch to blueberry and the beaded edging. Thanks for the link...I'm off to print out the pattern.

The snowman is adorable...changing colors/trims is what makes us unique! i had not planned to stitch this particular one, but everytime I see it finished, I want to do it too. As Annie said....not copying, sharing....for me, that is what these blogs are all about. Making new friends and sharing ideas and giving help. Your WIP is coming along nicely.....

Cute, cute snowman! That looks like it would be a quick, fun stitch, and I love that you changed the color to blue. And that BOAF piece - that's been on my to-do list forever. Maybe it will actually surface next year!

Love the ornament Lois! You are stitching up a storm this year - so many lovely things! Try and stay warm seeing as they have said we will be freezing for a couple of weeks or so! We are just not used to it, are we? Speak soon!

Aww...you're making me blush with all of your sweet compliments! Your snowman looks just great, Lois! I'm glad you were able to get some inspiration from my blog...I certainly get some from yours and all of our other blogging friends!

Nice progress on the BOAF piece, too. I haven't done any stitching lately due to Thanksgiving, but I hope to really buckle down this week. I can't believe Christmas is less than 4 weeks away...sigh!!

I stitched BOAF "Happy Hearts" a few years back, and to date, it's still one of my all-time favorites. Yours is looking quite nice, and the snowman is adorable.
