Hi everyone! Thanks for all your lovely comments last
time round. Things are gradually
settling down again and I’m gradually getting back into the swing of things here
at home with just several trips each week to see my parents.
Back in July I’d
shared my start of BBD’s Peacock Pinkeep well, here it is a couple of months
later and I can now share my finish!! I
had a change of heart about finishing this as a pinkeep and decided to finish
it this way….
I’d it half
completed before everything was put on hold but finally grabbed an afternoon last
week and got it done.
Stitched on 28ct flax linen using DMC 730 & 3777
My first attempt at
finishing this way and maybe it was a good thing I was interrupted as it has
meant that I took more time over the different stages and didn’t rush to get it
done as I would have been tempted to do!
I received this chart from Sally over at Stitchyangel’s Treasures and would like to do as she did and send this chart on to someone
else who’d like to stitch it. So, if you’d
like the chance to stitch this chart please let me know when you leave a
comment. All I ask is that you only add
your name into the draw if you are interested in stitching this and that
once you’ve stitched it you send the chart on its way again. Closing date is next Wednesday, 12th
September.
Until next time…..

Spectacular finish, Lois! You did an amazing job on the box and I love the trim on the side of the lid. No need to put me in the draw, I have this chart but now I need to stitch it. Beautiful finish!!

I love your finish of the "pinkeep" - I finished mine the same way!
I love the colors you chose for the piece, too!
Beautiful and your first time at finishing this way! I especially like the lace around it, really matches the linen. Great!

Awesome finish Lois! I like the way you put the trim around the edge of the lid - very smart! It's beautiful.
No need to enter me in the draw as I've stitched this one. It was a fun stitch and it's great that you are sharing the pattern for another person to enjoy it!
Amazing finish! Where did you get the box? It's perfect! Please enter me in the drawing.

Your finishing is wonderful! I just love it! Glad things are settling down for you now. Hope your parents are doing ok. It's so hard to see our parents age.
Wow! That is one stunning finish, Lois--you took your time on it and it really show. I've discovered that good finishing does take a longer time than most people realize, but it pays off in the end...
I'm glad to hear your travel days to your parents have diminished a bit, but that still sounds like a lot of time on the road... Hope your mom is improving daily--please take good care of yourself, too, my friend :)
Lois, I'm so pleased to hear things have settled down for you and your parents. I'll keep my fingers crossed that things stay on the upward path for all!
I absolutely love the peacock finish - what a creative way to go with it! Would love to know more about the details and steps you took in the finishing process. Where will it be displayed now that it's so beautifully done?
Beautiful stitching and finishing!
