As another weekend approaches...

Hi everyone!  I took a little break from Christmas Garden in the last day or two and picked this one up again…

The third block now completed on PSS Halloween Hornbook Sampler.  I’ve enjoyed the bit of a break from Christmas Garden’s colours and stitching with these stronger autumn ones.  Love how this one is turning out and that I’m staying on track with a block a month (now if I could just get motivated to stitch a Christmas ornament this month!!!!).

A little more on Christmas Garden ….

Here’s how the whole piece is looking now.  I’ll be picking this one up again over the weekend and the next two motifs to be stitched are probably going to be my favourites in the whole piece.

Thanks for all the lovely comments you left last time round complimenting Margaret’s quilt.  I told her to make sure to read all the comments and she was very chuffed (and surprised) at how many people had taken the time to make mention of it.

Almost the weekend!  Where do the weeks go?!?!? I hear it’s another IHSW weekend.  I haven’t signed up but, if you have…..enjoy!!!!

Until next time……

A little more progress....

Hi everyone!  First of all, thanks for all the encouragement last time round when I was feeling like I was making such slow progress on Christmas Garden.  I especially liked Mary’s thoughts of how I should look on it as a journey.  She is so right! So, from here on in I’m not going to be so hard on myself for feeling like I’m being slow but just enjoy the journey (and you will all know that when I do put the final stitches in this one I’ll be sad that I’m no longer working on it!). And having talked about said Christmas Garden…..

Now that the lower large motif is completed I can really see it all coming together (and that I should have ironed it better before taking pics!!!) and it also makes me realise just how much I have stitched!

My friend Margaret has recently finished a quilt as a wedding gift. I’ve watched this gorgeous quilt come together these last few months and when I saw it completed it was one of those ‘should have had my camera with me’ moments so had to make do with my (very old!) phone instead and take a quick picture.  The bride had been asked if she’d any preference in colours and said blue but other than that everything else was to be a surprise.  Just beautiful and I’ve since heard that the bride and groom were thrilled with it.

There’s a huge part of me that would love to quilt. I dabbled years ago, before I starting stitching, but so far I’ve kept myself in check about starting another addiction!!

Until next time……
