Christmas Eve and some ornaments to share

How did it get to be Christmas Eve?!?!?!  My poor, neglected blog, February since I’ve been here.  I never intended to be away this long but life took over for a variety of reasons - including clicking a button I shouldn't have and losing all my blog pics - as you can guess, that knocked the heart out of me for a while!!.  My stitching has been a little patchy through 2017 and popping a quick picture on IG became easier than sitting down and writing.  Lately though, it has been on my mind to try and restart blogging so…here I am, with a quick post, a couple of pictures and, hopefully, getting into gear for a return to more regular blogging in 2018.

Enough rambling!!  As each of these have now been received and are hanging on their respective trees I thought I’d share some ornament pictures.

First up, this is the one I picked to stitch for my daughter this year.  I started this tradition the first Christmas she was married…….

This is the freebie design from Plum Pudding Needlearts.  It’s called Fa La La and is still available online if you go looking for it.  If you look at my previous post you'll see I stitched this back in February when I was still keeping to #santasundayxs on IG.    I fell off the wagon shortly after – another thing I would like to get back to in 2018.

Next is the ornament I stitched for my dear friend Margaret.   We met for coffee and exchanged gifts last week.  This is the one part of her gift that she is always allowed to open before the 25th as I want her to be able to have it on her tree for as long as possible.

Many of you will recognise this one, A Star on Top, another freebie design, this time from Blue Ribbon Designs.  If you also click here it will take you to the page with all the freebie charts that Belinda so kindly shares.

Another ornament that I stitched has safely reached its destination.  This was the ornament I decided to stitch for my lovely friend Carol who many of you will know through her wonderful blog, Stitching Dreams

When Drawn Thread released this chart earlier in the year I knew exactly what ornament I’d be stitching for Carol……..

This is from the chart, Christmas Baskets.  Knowing how much Carol loves Red Cardinals when I saw this particular basket I knew straightaway I had to stitch it as Carol’s ornament.  Carol, I’m so glad you like it!

I hope to do another post after Christmas and before the New Year.  I’d like to share my other finishes through 2017 (there have been a couple!) and talk about my thoughts on what I’d like to stitch in 2018.

Happy Christmas!  Our sons are already home and this afternoon our daughter, SIL and two little ones arrive – a 3 year old who is entranced by the magic of Christmas this year and his 19 month old brother……I suspect it will be an early start tomorrow as someone will be wanting to know if Santa remembered them!!!

Until next time….

It's always so good to read a post from you, Lois--no matter how long it's been :)

You've created such lovely ornaments for your daughter, Margaret and me! I truly love the DT piece you made for me--your stitching and finishing are so wonderful and the cardinal truly does have special meaning for me. He visited me on Christmas Day just outside my kitchen window--very meaningful...

I wish you all the best in this coming year and hope you and your family had a magical Christmas together with those darling grandsons of your!

Just became your latest follower via Carol from Stitching Dreams. My friend RJ and I have a blog called Stitchingfriendsforever and would be thrilled if you came for a visit. Cardinals are dear to both RJ and myself so I loved your stitch that you sent carol. I hope you continue blogging, we started our blog in April and it's so much more enjoyable than facebook. You get to learn and share about about each other through our shared passion of stitching. Thanks for the freebie link too!! Happy New Year! Mary@stitchingfriendsforever
